Replace the old battery with a #CR2032 coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should face the fob's opening, and the "-" side should face the rubber buttons.
Reattach the mirror's passenger side cover by aligning the locating tabs. After you have done this, place the fob that is on the driver's side back in your vehicle and test it by pressing the push button on the front of the car key. If everything is working properly, the parking lights should be on and the doors will automatically lock.

When you insert your Fiat key it presses the button on the ignition switch that is used to remind you of the "key-inignition". The BCM will then be in a position to read the transponder inside the key fob and confirm that it's valid.
